Fundraiser for the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society

Call Mr. Robeson A Life, With Songs, performed by critically acclaimed Tayo Aluko, is a roller-coaster journey through Paul Robeson’s remarkable life, featuring some of his most famous songs and speeches.

Robeson was a successful professional football player, Columbia Law School graduate and Broadway actor. He was also involved with the radical civil rights movement, leading to his summoning before the US House Un-American Activities Committee. Robeson was branded a traitor and was blacklisted from performing.

This is the story of Robeson’s rise and fall of one of the 20th Century’s most impressive actors, singers and civil rights activists in a powerful, compelling tour-de-force performance.
