In the mid 1980’s, Maria Curcic, AKA Dj Mary Flavors, co-produced a weekly radio show, “Up for Clubbing” on CJSW in Calgary. This began a musical journey that saw the debut of her own weekly show on a local radio station, RadioRadio, then on cable FM. The show featured Mary Flavors’ eclectic mix of music and style, ranging from electro-funk , italo-disco, new-wave (Depeche Mode, New Order… ) ,cold wave and early Chicago and New-York house scenes as well as many other styles.
With a strong following on RadioRadio she ventured into the clubs, where she developed into a well recognized talent in the Calgary club and lounge scene. Her musical sound evolution continues today, both in live gigs and on RadioRadio.ca, managed today by DJ Mary Flavors. She continues to produce a weekly cutting edge radio show that features the best of new, eclectic music from around the world.
