THE KLEZ play Klezmer- the celebratory music of Jews from Eastern Europe. We also play Ladino or Sephardic music: the haunting music of the Sephardic Jews who were driven out of Spain in 1492. Both strains are music filled with love and longing, minor chords, and heart-felt joy. It is foot tapping music, rich with stories of hope and survival, sadness and joy.
Audiences are encouraged to both dance and sing along.
The band includes Martina Peladeau on flute and recorders, Kate Rhodes on violin, Alex Olson on mandolin,Barbara Pedrick Blied on bass and Lucila Nerenberg on guitar.
We will be playing an intimate concert at the Merlin Theatre 1983 Fairfield Road
Saturday June 29th.
Tickets are $15 and there will also be snacks by donation.
