Although revered African guitarist and Grammy winner Ali Farka Touré has passed on, his spirit is very much alive in the person of his singer/guitarist son, Vieux Farka Touré. With several CDs to his credit, the well-travelled Touré has become a global musician, one who collaborates with the likes of Dave Matthews, Derek Trucks, and John Scofield. A dazzling virtuoso who can play electric guitar with rock ‘n’ roll panache, Touré is also a deeply creative force in world music. Vieux Farka Touré has clearly established himself as one of the world’s rare musical talents and guitar virtuosos with a distinct style that always pays homage to the past while looking towards the future. Vieux continues to expand his horizons, embracing new challenges and furthering his reputation as one of the world’s most talented and innovative musicians.
