Much baroque music draws its inspiration from the gypsy music that bubbled up through social circles into the courts of nobility. These pieces reflect the fascination their composers felt for the music of these nomads. Capturing the spirit of the times, this lively programme portrays unexpected parallels between gypsy music and that of Vivaldi, Telemann and their contemporaries.
