Edie and John Love Bossa CD Release
Celebrating the release of their debut CD, "Edie and John Love Bossa", local singer, Edie DaPonte and long time Victoria guitarist, John MacArthur will be joined by Joey Smith on Bass, Roy Styffe on Sax and Joby Baker on drums who are all featured on the album.
Recorded at Baker Studios in Victoria, the CD features a smooth mix of Bossa Nova standards from composers, Jobim, Jorge Ben, Ronaldo Boscoli and Luiz Bonfa. Influenced by Edie’s Portuguese Fado roots, most of the tracks are sung in Brazilian Portuguese. From the toe tapping samba rhythm of “So Danco Samba” to the luscious arrangement of “Garota de Ipanema”, the concert promises to serve up some passionate, soulful, and joyful music!
