Event Archive - A night of country and Canadiana: Horse Opera , Shiloh Lindsey, Wayne Lavallee

Thu. February 2nd 2012 Railway Club Vancouver BC (No Minors)
$8.00 at the door only.
Horse Opera is a Vancouver-based roots-rock band whose musical mix blends country and Canadiana, a bit of blues, and a dash of soul all wrapped up in rock and roll. Their original songs feature strong hooks, distinctive vocals and a twin guitar attack. Mixed in with their originals are covers by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Jackie DeShannon, CCR, Johnny Burnett Trio and Delbert McClinton. Their sound has been compared to Blue Rodeo, Chris Isaak and the Mavericks.

Hailed as "The Whiskey Sipping Darling of the Vancouver Country Scene" Shiloh Lindsey pours her heart out via her own brand of alt-country music. Shiloh's music is for somewhere between that after-hours moment in the dimly lit bar when Johnny Cash comes on the jukebox for the last time, and that instant when the sun first starts to turn the sky from darkness to dawn.

Wayne Lavallee is 2010 Juno nominee & winner for “Best folk acoustic album” “Best rock album” & “Best male artist” at the 2010 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. Lavallee’s music roams from blues to rock to Native chanting with a sense of artistic freedom that transcends easy classification, leaving one with the distinct sensation that they’ve just crossed paths with an unusual singer-songwriter, and a major one at that.
