Event Description
A cornucopia of Conservatory choirs performs in concert.
Hear the Bel Canto Singers, directed by Catherine Young, with Stephen Shields, piano; Ensemble Sine Nomine, directed by Nicholas Fairbank; and the VCM Children's Choir, directed by Elizabeth Shannon Brown.
The Children's Choir will present a variety of songs, including Hungarian and Jewish folk songs. The Bel Canto Singers will sing music from the Messe Basse by Gabriel Faur�. They will also present the premiere performance of My Life After Your Death, by Victoria composer Leila Lustig with poetry by Barbara D. Holender.
Ensemble Sine Nomine will perform a programme of secular Spanish music from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, featuring composers Matias de Durango (17th c.), Juan Vasquez (ca. 1500-1560?), and Johannes Cornago (ca.1425-1475?).
