Bebop pianist Tardo Hammer has been a major figure on the New York jazz scene for over two decades. During this time he’s worked with the likes of Lionel Hampton, Lou Donaldson, Art Farmer, and Abbey Lincoln. As a leader his CD Stop Look and Listen (Sharp Nine), featuring Tadd Dameron compositions, was cited as one of the top recordings of 2007 by Down Beat magazine. Toronto-born, New York-based tenor saxophonist Grant Stewart has made a name for himself working with piano greats Harry Connick Jr. and Dick Hyman. His rich full tone and great melodic sense is heard to full effect on his eight recordings as a leader. His resumé includes performances with Clark Terry, Bill Charlap, Curtis Fuller, and Jimmy Cobb. Joining this cross-border collaboration are award-winning Vancouver bassist Jodi Proznick and drummer Jesse Cahill.
