Old Crow Medicine Show

The Old Crow Medicine Show draws on some of the oldest traditions in American music while creating something exciting and new. Southern Appalachian string music, Memphis blues, tunes from jug bands, traveling shows and dance halls, are all grist for this quintet’s mill. Down Home Girl, the band’s latest EP, highlights songs from the group’s Big Iron World, the full-length follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut. Critics hailed that 2004 disc for capturing not just the sound but the spirit of the music of their forebears, as well as infusing the music with renewed energy.
