Next Of Kin
Rock from Victoria BC
Broken Up - Confirmed:
Jul. 1, 2017 (Archived)
With their catchy, up-tempo rock songs that plant themselves firmly in your unconscious, Next of Kin is a band not soon forgotten. Hailing from Victoria, BC, Next of Kin released their self-titled debut CD in February 2004. Powered by the two-guitar attack of Ian Dunbar and Arlie Manchur, the driving bass of Alicia Bate and the energized drumming of Ryan Pekarchuck, NOK have built a reputation for powerful and entertaining live shows. Both Alicia and Ian lend their voices to different tracks, culling from a variety of influences to add a varied, unpredictable quality to the music.
After forming in early 2000, the band quickly cultivated a local stable of devoted fans. Since then, they have honed their craft the old-fashioned way, playing dozens of shows in and around Victoria. After some shuffling in July 2003, the band settled on the current line-up and gelled together by writing a batch of new tunes. With their strong on-stage chemistry and catchy, carefully crafted songs, Next of Kin are quickly establishing themselves in the rising Victoria rock scene.
