Because any sudden movement, like a swung-fist, is sure to disrupt the oh-so-perfect centrifugal force of the turntable, and we cannot allow that can we? Zippgunn would know the name, but there was a french turntable at Sound Hounds which the manufacturers guaranteed would not skip during a 6.5 richter earthquake.
