progressive rock, experimental, noisy, and sweet from Victoria BC
Instruments: Drums, Hand Percussion, Composition/Songwriting, handbone details
Hi there. this is a little long, but stick with me... I am searching for musicians ie. guitar players, singers, keyboards to form a band with a unique combination of talent and interests. My dream is to be part of a huge musical collective. I am by no means limited to any particular genre, but I do like to rock! I have philosophies on music, namely that we are on the verge of some reconsideration and reintegration of musical styles, it has to go somewhere. Electronics are a promising new avenue as the sounds they produce become more and more palatable and convincing. I'd like to get involved in an electronic project or at least feature electronic elements.
I have a B.A. in Creative writing and Anthropology so I write poetry (including lyrics) and fiction. My ideas are definately applicable to lyrical content, conceptual organization of songs. Lyrics and poetry are built around an underlying rhythm, and the drums come in handy for that. I have acoustic drums, Roland Vdrums and a Handsonic pad that feature a lot of ethnic drums sounds and noises, good for all those atmospheric sounds on the post production or LIVE!!
I'd like to make an impact both in the victoria music scene and all over the world.
Immediate influences incl. Mastodon, Tool (of course), Mars Volta, QOTSA, melvins, Opeth, fantomas, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, Tom Waits, Dinosaur jr, fugazi, sweet stuff too like Bjork, Feist, PJ Harvey, ween, a perfect circle, broken social scene, wolf parade, arcade fire (that good ole canadaian content), pelican, NIN.
anyways that's all a matter of opinion, there is so much out there to explore, i have music for all moods that evoke a feeling, memory or desirable emotion, as I get older I want more and more to be in a mature band and at times I want to be noisy.
get back to me with what you think
