About

Jazzin' With U-JAM

since circa 2004
"Jazzin' With U-JAM" is looking for horn players!

Our program provides adult musicians an opportunity to develop their musicianship and perform in public under the guidance of local professional musicians. We currently have a good mix of singers and instruments, but would like to add one or more trumpeters and saxophonists.
Musicians & singers meet with guest mentors regularly throughout the year at Long & McQuade's Education Centre to play and perform in small combos and develop their improvisational skills. The group usually practices on Sunday afternoons, and performs in Victoria a couple of times a year.
The group's repertoire includes jazz standards and contemporary hits from the popular songbooks of new and emerging artists, as well as tunes/songs written and/or arranged by members of the group.
The program is open to all interested musicians, age 18 or older. Cost is $50 a session (6 get-togethers). To get involved, reply via email.
The next session starts March 9, 2014.
