Resonance, featuring Lisa Tinney, soprano and Kathryn Le Gros, piano, will be presenting an evening of music celebrating Schubert and his contemporaries. Resonance presented a well received evening of Spanish music at Caleb Pike, in September 2018. This time they will have friends Byron Phillips, baritone and Rachel Capon, cello joining them.

So, what is a Schubertiade? In Schubert's time, they were often informal gatherings at private homes, often with the composer present. Patrons would host evenings of food, drink and then retire to their salons for the sharing of lovely music. This could be songs, solo piano, string quartets or quintets, poetry readings and more. While a Schubertiade is primarily focused on the namesake composer, it is also a chance to celebrate the composers who were his contemporaries. These evenings are evocative of a time when people gathered together to share music made in their home. After Schubert's death, the tradition continued, but, with time, Schubertiade's became more formal, recital style performances. For our evening of music, we are very happy to return to the more intimate style in the charm of Caleb Pike Heritage House. This intimate venue is ideal for our evening of music, with tea, coffee and conversation.

Come on your own / bring along friends and family for this
