Having started life surrounded by Irish jigs and reels, Liam graduated to blues and rock, which was standard fare near Newcastle, England. Liam shared jams, gigs and events with Northern Clubland budding stars such as John Miles, Brian Johnson, Hylton Valentine and Steve Jinski. Laim was a session bass player with the UK’s first independent record label, HolyGround, and worked with Bill Nelson who later played with BeBop deluxe. Arriving in North America in the 80’s, Liam began to focus on big band and jazz genres. Nowadays, he also plays with Victoria bands Queenie and the Groove Kings and The Coomdores Big Band and he is at home with many types of music including blues, funk, soul, jazz and rock.
