Six Singers and a Band tour though Kurt Weill’s decadent city of
Mahagonny and escape through a performance of a collection of his
recently discovered works. Brecht and Weill tell the story of six
characters pursuing a futile quest to escape their ordinary lives in a
voyage to and toward a dystopian paradise of lust, drinking, theft and
gambling. Each song is memorable and entertaining on its own but
as a whole are a biting critique of capitalism and the false hope of
sensual escape it holds out to six ordinary men and women.

“Brilliant vocals, gripping theater and multimedia 3 panel projection to compliment and enhance the atmosphere of the Brecht Weill collaboration.”

"Communism and Naziism were contending for the hearts of the people.
Neither the evil of Hitler nor the evil of Stalin had been revealed.
In meetings and at town halls the Nazi and Communist flags often
flanked the flag of the Weimar republic. In many ways, much like our
own times, it was an age of innocence, willful blindness and denial"
