Event Description

This will be the grande finale show for VICTORIA'S 5TH ANNIVERSARY SKA FESTIVAL! We've never had a line-up like this in the festival's 5 year history so party and witness history in the making.

Victoria BC Ska Society is proud to present one of the forefathers of Ska and reggae: STRANGEJAH COLE. He will be backed by the Hoodwinks from Vancouver and other horn players from Victoria and Vancouver respectively (one of the members of the Hoochy Girls is in the backing band).

They will be playing a number of songs from his greatest hits album "Bangarang" - The Best of Strangejah Cole 1962 - 1972). Don't miss this rare opportunity to see one of ska and reggae's pioneers in an exclusive show to Victoria's 5th Anniversary Ska Festival.

- Don't miss this opportunity to see this group in motion from beginning to end doing a nice long set! You will hear Eastern Standard Time do their own material as well as dancehall toasters/singers DR. RING DING (Germany) & KING DJANGO (NY, NY) accompany and battle each other.


CALIFFO DE LUXE - (Venice, Italy)

This is the first North American appearance for Califfo de Luxe! They will be a bright addition to ska fest with their brand of ska and rocksteady - Italian style!


V.I.S.A SKA JAZZ ORCHESTRA

The V.I.S.A Records Ska Jazz Orchestra or (Van Isle Ska Artists) Ska Jazz Orchestra is a mixer of members from The Kiltlifters, The Bloodwarmers, The Hoochy Girls, Ten Too Late, Street Prophets Union & King Bong. Deep rooted with powerfully melodic horn arrangements the V.I.S.A Records Ska Jazz Orchestra will be playing a mixture of jazz standards, epic movie themes, old school favourites and originals. V.I.S.A Records Ska Jazz Orchestra showcases the talent and enthusiasm of Vancouver Island's ska scene in one big band! Their appearance at this year's anniversary edition of the festival will mark the first time so many of the Island's ska musicians join together as one. We can't wait!
