The Strathcona Hotel & Element havn't seen a hypnotist show since the glory days of Anthony Cools and his hilarious comedy/hypnotist show. It's our pleasure to bring those days back for the people who enjoyed it and for the people that have never experienced it.

Join us for a night of laughter and excitement with the "The bad boy of hypnosis", Dave Curran, is bringing the new and hilarious hypnotic event, “Dirty Minds” on tour. Laced with profanity, provocative and adult on every level, Dirty Minds takes shots at all aspects of "dirty" behavior. "All the shows I’ve done in the past were very risqué," says Curran. "This show, 'Dirty Minds,' has taken that to a whole other level."

The first 15 minutes of the show - the part where Curran prepares the audience and the volunteers for what to expect - involves a lot of comedy.

"I come from an improv comedy background," Curran says. "In my show you've really got to pay attention because I'm always throwing out one-liners."

He says because of his unusual background the show is a blend of hypnotism and improv comedy.

"The combination of the two makes it different from anything else in Canada." Curran says.

A dozen or so people are brought to the stage and hypnotized. They simulate smoking pot, auditioning for porno flicks, re-enacting a Girls Gone Wild commercial and performing other actions of an adult nature. They are the true stars of the show and are the real-life audience volunteers who, once hypnotized and their inhibitions relaxed, do some of the funniest, wildest, and sexiest things you will ever see. With a master hypnotist, beautiful women and amazing music that pounds long into the night, DIRTY MINDS reinvents comedy hypnosis and delivers an energizing evening in which nothing is taboo.I don’t get somebody onstage and trash them. I never have and never will, but I do step over the line of good taste."
