Sean Drabitt is justly famed as a
classic jazz bassist in his own
right – he has spent a lot of time
in New York and New Orleans, and
was invited on gigs by the likes
of Betty Carter and Kenny Kirkland
– but Drabitt occasionally likes to
pay tribute to Jaco Pastorious,
the supremely funky bass virtuoso
most famous for his work with
Weather Report. Joining him in
this JazzFest tribute to Jaco
Pastorious are Leone Torres
percussion, Emily Braden vocals,
Josh Dixon drums, Brent Jarvis
keyboard, Roy Styffe flute/
saxophone, Alfonse Fear trumpet,
and Nick Lariviere trombone.
