Assertion

split circa 2004
Assertion is a unique music trio from Vancouver, British Columbia, who play rock, folk and improvised music with equal sincerity. They started in 1996 as a duo with Chad MacQuarrie on guitar and Scott Rabo on drums. Both musicians have been involved with different music projects from all over Canada, including:
PUNK bands; Karen Foster (on Sudden Death Records), The Druids, 25? Peep Show ...
JAZZ & EXPERIMENTAL bands; Denny Christianson Big Band, Tony George Quartet, Fond of Tigers, The Exploding Meat, CoCo Love Alcorn, Spacious Couch ...
POP bands; Mike Wettering Band, The Insomaniacs ...
AFRICAN bands; Doundounba

As a duo, Assertion released it's first CD "A Great Refusal", in 1998. In 2000 Assertion became a trio with the addition of bassist Brian McCallum.

"Powerless" is their new independantly released CD.
