Chip Shetfield User Info... | Any other PV fans here? They're easily one of my favorite bands ever. I never got to see them live, but there's some footage on youtube: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=%22Pigment+Vehicle%22&search_type= I think I listen to 'Murder's Only Foreplay' more than any other album I own. They apparently recorded some stuff before they broke up with a revamped line up that was never released. I'd do shameful, disgusting things just to hear that. - Tue, 19 Feb 2008 3:08pm

anarchoblitz User Info... | My old band "Contempt" used to rehearse in the meatlocker next to Pigment Vehicle(they shared a space with the Clusterfux and Dayglo Abortions. They used to a manager(i forget his name)who would prowl around the meatlockers acting big...it was pretty funny! PV was kind of scheduled to be a "big" band but didn't really get there. They were super tight and kind of like a more technical version of their mentors NOMEANSNO. I had the pleasure of double jamming with them(an old thing that used to happen in Vic where bands would get together for an evening, drink (or whatever)and trade off playing songs for eachother)and sharing gigs in the early 90s. one show that stands out as one of my favorite shows ever was in 1991, out in Sidney, when we played with Facepuller, Pigment Vehicle, and Murray's(from the dayglos)other band(can't remember the name right now). Anyway, the "Piggies", as they were known as, were a damn good band! Colin (the bassist)can be found around town(i ran into him at cafe fanstastico a few months back), he's now a successful sculpture! He was telling me how he's was finishing up a work for Neal Young! ha ha. I remember him introducing me to the Belgian band EX in his Fernwood apartment back in 1990! the drummer moved to Nelson I think. Anyone remember the sort of PV offshoot band Fracas? An all Female band that was in the same vein as the aforementioned EX as well as NOMEANSNO and PV. Enough out of me! - Thu, 21 Feb 2008 7:55pm

Chip Shetfield User Info... | Hey thanks for the anecdotes Wolf. I actually live in Nelson and just lurk on this forum every once in a while. I know Colin lived in Nelson for a very brief period of time, he jammed a couple times with some friends of mine who couldn't get him to "dumb it down" enough for them. During his brief time here I never got to meet him and tell him how much I love his old band, though. - Fri, 22 Feb 2008 2:55pm Edited: Fri, 22 Feb 2008 2:55pm
laprider User Info... | Murrays band at the time was color out of space Jay is teaching drums at musicworks in Sidney Colin is a fine mixed media/ metal artisan, his work is around, the mint etc... and hanging in Neil Youngs place. Craig is in Budokan along with many other legends. and later member Tolan is still palying everywhere and making great records. The Meatlockers ruled and Todd was the slumlord, he also caused the fire that brought about the end! History out - Fri, 22 Feb 2008 3:43pm
Dane User Info... | Ha! I remember Pigment Vehicle. When I was in Grade 11 Cam Pipes from Three Inches of Blood sat beside me in Biology class and would often mention them. I also remember seeing posters of them here and there when I was a teen... They were playing around the same time as Pressure Cooker and Dadawah... - Sat, 23 Feb 2008 9:36am

_Griphin_ User Info... | I really liked Pigment Vehicle as well. They released: Hockey Night in Saskatoon (tape demo), Independant Women Are So Damn Good (tape demo), Let the Squids Fly Free (tape demo), Murder's Only Foreplay When Your Hot For Revenge and Perfect Cop Mustache. - Sat, 12 Apr 2008 11:42pm Edited: Sun, 13 Apr 2008 12:19am
Chip Shetfield User Info... | I don't think Independent Women was a tape demo (well, mine is a CD copy that was released on Wrong Records in 96 anyway) but I used to have a tape copy of Perfect Cop Moustache (which I eventually found on CD). I actually managed to solicit a Fracas disc which is fucking great, very early Pigment Vehicle type sound. - Sun, 13 Apr 2008 12:15pm
