Event Description

Acclaimed Toronto based Saxophonist/Composer Kirk MacDonald will be touring Western Canada with the legendary American pianist Harold Mabern joined by bassist Kieran Overs and Vancouver drummer Jesse Cahill.

The Quartet will be presenting music from both MacDonald and Mabern along with music from MacDonald’s two CD’s featuring Mabern . “Vista Obscura” received the 2015 Juno Award for best Solo Recording in the jazz category and his latest release “Generations” which features Mabern along with his daughter clarinetist Virginia MacDonald, bassist Neil Swainson and Drummer Andre White.

A powerful and unique band that has wowed sold out audiences throughout Canada and at Jazz at Lincoln Centre's “Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola”. Not to be missed!
