David Chenery, lead singer of local band "The Hex", will be performing a very unique solo acoustic to start the evening.
Local singer-songwriter, Aaron Wylder will be performing selections of original music, including his new singles, "Desert Ride" and "Don't Let it Run Away", plus cover songs that are sure to please folk, rock, and blues fans.
r. mason will be performing songs from the soon to be released, "rains too loud for tv" album along with other very special selections. Be prepared for an out of this world experience.
Sail Cassady and Michael Wilford are bringing the show to VEC for the first time ever! These local favorites are teaming up to put on a very special performance at Victoria Event Centre.
Sail Cassady came alive while reading ‘On The Road’ by Jack Kerouac in 2012. The adventure, art and imagery held within the parameters of a single book, birthed the idea that the same concept could be experienced within a song or a band. ‘All too often music can feel two dimensional and flat’ explains Colin Craveiro, singer/songwriter for the project. "I love imagery in music that almost pulls you in like a book or a film. Makes the experience of listening much more enriching and dynamic."
Along with Nate Bailey (keys), John Flatman (keys/back ups) and Aaron Blair (bass), the four of them began combining elements of folk, chamber and dreamscape creating an organic and transmissive sound. With 2018’s release of ‘Silverfish’ and numerous singles including 2019’s ‘Shadow hands’ and 2021’s ‘Clydesdale’, Sail Cassady has no plans of slowing down. Even eluding to its second record, ‘Old Green House’ coming out summer of 2021 with the help of Shannon Sargent (back ups), Chris Lloyd (lead guitars) and Michael Wilford (drums) Together they hope to create tiny films in the hearts and minds of all who listen.

≫ Land Acknowledgement ≪
We would like to gratefully acknowledge that the territory on which this event takes place is on the traditional, stolen, unceded land of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
≫ Accessibility ≪
Our seating is a combination of high tables, bar stools, and cocktail tables with chairs. If you require assistance with this, please make a note when purchasing tickets or contact us at [email protected] and VEC staff will do their best to accommodate.
There are three multi-user, gender-inclusive bathrooms with stalls. One bathroom has a larger stall with its own sink and a grab bar (more details in the ‘Bathrooms’ section).
The Victoria Event Centre currently does not have an operational elevator, and there is one long flight of stairs at the venue entrance. The only way into the VEC is up 27 wood stairs, 11″ deep, 6″ high. There are wooden 2.5” handrails 38” up the wall on each side of the staircase (54” apart, so not graspable on both sides at once. See further details in the ‘Getting Inside’ section)
If you would like to attend the event but require assistance with accessing the space, please contact us at [email protected] and VEC staff will do their best to accommodate.
Inside the Victoria Event Centre there is a gender inclusive wheelchair accessible washroom that technically fits necessary size dimensions, but is missing a bar and a handrail beside the toilet.
There are two stalls in the washroom, but only one of these has been renovated to meet 5'x5' wheelchair clearance.
