Kaya Fraser will be performing with an acoustic version of her backing band, and Shauna Janz will open the show. Gorgeous Coffee is an all-ages venue, cozy and very music-friendly (they even turn off the espresso machine during the music!). This is a return engagement for both performers, who have both played to a full house at Gorgeous before. Cover is by donation at the door.

About Kaya: Powerful songs. A sweet, soulful voice. Strong arrangements. The music of Montreal-raised, Victoria-based songwriter Kaya Fraser is not about gimmicks, it's about quality--that know-it-when-you-hear-it thing that makes you listen, listen again, and go tell your friends. As one critic put it, "Elements of country, soul, and sultry acoustic pop are combined with sophistication and polish ... Fraser's moving songs don't really need anything more, except to be discovered." http://www.kayafraser.com

About Shauna: Vancouver Island singer-songwriter Shauna Janz, weaves melody and story into an evocative collection of songs that reverberate with life, love, and resilience. Shauna's unique lyrical landscapes, unconventional approach, and her folk-soprano voice, have awarded her quick recognition. Her soulful high notes leave audiences in awe, echoing the vocal stylings of Joni Mitchell, Jewel, and Beth Gibbons of Portishead. http://www.shaunajanzmusic.com
