On Kanata Day, The Copper Owl is holding a fundraiser in memoriam to The Coast Salish people and all the aboriginal peoples who have rightful claim to this Nation called Canada.

As we are primarily a venue we've asked some local bands to come up with a 30 minute set that they can perform of Canadian material by Canadian artists.

It turned out to be a pretty awesome list by 7 groups.

Here they are in performance order.

7:30-8PM
Bub featuring members of Open Relationship and Pinner covering tunes by Cub.


8:15-8:45PM
Darmok and Jalad featuring Tim Dubroy, Liam McKeracher and Anthony Theocharis cover songs by The Rheostatics, Limblifter, The Doughboys, Sloan, Sky and Rusty.


9-9:30PM
Clunt and the Scrunts perform '90's wedge - era hits'

9:45-10:15
Hush Pup cover select songs by Leonard Cohen.

10:30-11PM
Headquake RC Club featuring members of The Backhomes, Psychic Pollution and the Chanterelles cover tunes by Rick White, Elevator and Eric's Trip.

11:15-11:45PM
Summer Babe cover a variety of tunes by Neil Young, Alanis, Bruce Cockburn etc

12:15-12:45AM
Fall Fair Car covers Neil Young, The Band, Tragically Hip and Rush.

Cover is $5 - $10 sliding scale
All proceeds from this event go to The Victoria Native Friendship Centre.
