Here we are unscathed on the survivors side of the 2012 predictions for the end of the world as we know it. To mark the occasion, we invite you to join Open Space for a double-header party recognizing our 40th Anniversary & the eternal networks Art’s Birthday celebration.

Open Space, Roasted. Come prepared with your own special roasts, toasts, recollections, and insights. After 40 years, bring it on. Open Space can take it! Share the moment with artists, members, former directors, volunteers, and staff who have instigated, abetted, and ignited four decades and five generations of adventures in the contemporary arts.

We’ll also be launching upcoming projects and introducing artist-in-residence Charles Campbell. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Roasts begin at 7:30 pm with words and action by Victoria’s Poet Laureate Janet Marie Rogers. We’ll be serving a special birthday cake created by Mary Patterson. Later, enjoy the indefinably magical Great Giffoni/ Shadow Puncho and the toe-tapping genius of downtown Slim Sandy and the Hillbilly Bebop.

Throughout the evening, we’ll be screening raw footage from Open Space’s past events and escapades with selections from Paul Schrivener's personal collection. We have also commissioned Mikhail Miller and Eric Volet to create a front foyer mural, and will be unveiling our Helmken Ally project.

We look forward to seeing you. Email to confirm your attendance—and bring friends and family.

We'd like to thank The Market on Yates for their donation!
