Lisa Szeker-Madden holds a Ph.D in musicology from UVic. She teaches music history courses with continuing studies at UVic and at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Her major instrument is the recorder, though she majored on the clarinet for her H.B.mus. She is an active performer, and is a specialist in early music, performance practice, and the recorder. She also composes and arranges music for small ensembles. For the last 6 years, she has contributed music articles to Focus Magazine. Teaching is her special joy, and she is accepting private students for instruction in music history, theory, and recorder.
